(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) – This isn’t Twilight, but there are vampires in your house— vampires that are sucking energy and you are flipping the bill for it! Mr. Green himself, Ed Begley Jr., talks with Green Living about simple-to-complex ways to save energy, save money, and go green through easy DIYs.

Actor, author, and pioneering environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. has been a long-standing advocate for environmental issues. Ed has led the green movement for many years, both as a personal example of sustainable lifestyle practices, and a vocal spokesperson toward a more Earth-responsible society. He believes that even the simplest changes in personal habits, multiplied by a growing populace of concerned humans, can create a lasting effect on the health of our planet and of all living things.

In the April issue of Green Living, Editor-in-Chief Tishin Donkersley, M.A. talks one-on-one with Ed Begley Jr. and tours his home to learn more about how Ed truly lives the sustainable life. From his abundant garden and fruit trees to his recycled Coke bottle countertops and solar panels, Ed generously opens his home, and shares one story about how he received a C+ “green grade” from an energy audit, which he improved upon with one simple DIY!

“I will say from start to finish, Ed Begley lives, breathes and is passionate about green and energy-savings,” Donkersley said.

Ed Begley Jr. recently launched Begley’s Earth Responsible home product line for homeowners to have sustainable, safe, non-toxic products in their home and to follow Paul Newman’s model of Newman’s Own that donates proceeds from sales to various charities. “I give 25 percent of net sales to charities for the environment,” Begley said.

Also in the April issue—“Science vs Nutrition—the GMO Debate,” Gluten-free certifications for food manufacturers, “A Vintage Wedding on a Budget,” and Earth Month recipes.
